Pulls your full hardware snapshot in one place. CPU, GPU, RAM speed and total, storage, motherboard, BIOS version, display resolution and refresh rate. No digging through Device Manager.
Storage Health
Checks every drive using Windows' built-in health tools. Tells you the drive type, health status, and whether anything looks off so you can back up before something goes wrong.
Stability & Crashes
Reads your Windows Event Log for the last 30 days. Blue screens, unexpected shutdowns, hardware errors, app crashes. Shows what's actually crashing and how often.
Performance

Step 01
Download the installer
Download the PCLabs Setup file. If Windows SmartScreen pops up, click More info then Run anyway. This is normal for new apps. Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
Step 02
Run a diagnostic scan
Click Run Diagnostic Scan. PCLabs reads your hardware using standard Windows tools. Nothing is changed on your PC.
Step 03
Read your results
Every finding is explained in plain English with a health score, severity level, and what to do about it. No decoding required.

The twelve checks

Every check PCLabs runs, and why it matters.

CPU temperature & throttling Is your processor hitting thermal limits under load? Is performance being reduced to protect it?
GPU temperature & driver version Running hot? Driver too old? Both cause crashes, black screens, and stuttering.
RAM speed vs. rated speed Is XMP/EXPO enabled? Your RAM might be running at half its rated speed right now.
Disk S.M.A.R.T. status Early failure warnings your PC never tells you about, until the drive dies and you lose everything.
Windows Update status Missing critical security and stability patches can cause crashes and leave you exposed.

Results depend on what your hardware and Windows expose via standard system APIs. Most systems are fully supported. Some checks like CPU temperature may not be available on all hardware configurations.

WMI / CIM
Reads your hardware profile. CPU, GPU, RAM speed and capacity, storage, motherboard, and BIOS version. Standard Windows interface, read-only.
S.M.A.R.T.
Queries your drive's built-in health reporting system. The same data your drive manufacturer uses to flag early failure warnings.
Windows Event Log
Reads crash and stability history. Blue screens, unexpected shutdowns, app crashes. Your system already logs all of this. PCLabs just shows it to you.
Registry reads
Checks startup entries and power plan configuration. Read-only. Nothing is written, nothing is changed.
